The opening song of George Brandon's debut E.P, 'See You In My next Song' is a strident price of bright acoustic folk that is pleasant enough. However things hit another level altogether with 'Rock N Roll Soul' which reverses the view of the previous song looking at the musical life as the person left behind by the touring player. A bubbly country rock song it is easily the highlight here. In the way of any well-structured record Kings Of The Buffalo' is more downtempo with accordion adding a melancholy feel towards the end of the piece.

As a "concept" EP about the trials and tribulations of the music industry he has an interesting take on the business and life of a musician. In 'Punktual' he questions if he is suited to that life. "I always wanted a mohawk but I'm scared of hairdressers". By the time we hear 'Growing Up' he is questioning the whole ethos of the music business.

Brandon has also been the front man of folk band 'Painted Sky' so is not entirely new to the woes of the music biz. He has a simple direct writing style that is very persuasive.

I hope that he isn't really as disillusioned as his songs sound, because this is a mature and confident debut EP that bodes very well for his solo future.
